Nick Cannon is blasting the media for its coverage of his rumored divorce from Mariah Carey. In a long-winded Twitter rant on Wednesday, Cannon claimed he never made any statement confirming his split from the singer -- despite being quoted by "Yahoo! News" last month. The "America's Got Talent" host tweets:
For the record I NEVER have, nor will I make a statement regarding my marriage.— Nick Cannon (@NickCannon) September 3, 2014
In addition to throwing shade at the "sources" helping to drive what he called "false reports," Nick says what hurts him the most is "to hear people slander" Mariah, writing "I love Mariah Carey and that will never change."
What infuriates me most is to hear people slander @MariahCarey . I will forever be in debted to her for blessing me with our children...— Nick Cannon (@NickCannon) September 3, 2014
I will always love her unconditionally for this and so much more. @MariahCarey is an amazing Mother and I trust her wholeheartedly...— Nick Cannon (@NickCannon) September 3, 2014
I love @MariahCarey and that will never change!!!— Nick Cannon (@NickCannon) September 3, 2014
The Twitter rant seems to include some mixed messages, however. He denies having confirmed divorce rumors, but does say it has been a "challenging time for [him] and [his] family." He also asks "all civilized people" to "respect [his] family and this process" at "this difficult time."
