About Steel Toe
The two of us met in Russellville Arkansas in 2005. Coming from two different music backgrounds, we kept our styles and interests separate. By 2007, after becoming best friends, we took others advice and tried playing together. What resulted was something different that pushed the edge of what we thought could be country rock. After playing local shows with cover songs, the public response to our twist on country took shape. We began writing originals and rewrote songs we both had from our past. After recording in Harrison, our demo cd shocked friends, family, and the local community. We both are employed at Bibler Lumber Company, so the band name “Steel Toe” just made sense. Starting as a joke over having to wear steel toed boots at work, we thought the name would remind us of who we are and where we come from. Steel Toe is Todd, 27, at lead vocals and rhythm guitar, and Evan, 24, at lead guitar. The band focus is to continue to write original songs that mean something to us and stray away from the conventional. We enjoy spicing up cover songs, but keeping each song with its original respect. Although the band is currently lacking musicians, other players do enjoy filling in the empty space for us. Our dream is to be in Nashville, no matter what is takes!
