Help Name The New Plaza In Downtown Little Rock

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (KTHV) – New businesses, apartment complexes and more are popping up all over central Arkansas.

The North Little Rock City Council announced a new development along Main Street in the Argenta District but it hasn’t been named.

The project includes several features including distinctive water features, relaxed “front porch” area along the street, fully equipped performance area/stage. The design is inspired by the city’s history along the Arkansas River.

Since the project lacks a name, Mayor Joe Smith announced a public contest to help choose one.

The names to choose from include:

  • Argenta Plaza
  • Argenta Commons
  • Argenta Square
  • Silver Dog Crossing
  • NLR’s Argenta Place
  • Main Street Plaza

In a video on the city’s YouTube page, you can see several of the sketches for the project. They include fountains that are lit and automated for both children and adults to enjoy.

You can also see a 50-foot long freestanding water wall. The city said what residents want the most is more green space so there’s an area called “backyard berms” which will be great for people to utilize.

Public voting ends Tuesday, February 20, at noon. To vote, click here. (THV 11)
