The Las Vegas City Council approved a measure on Wednesday to allow parking tickets to be paid with school supplies between June 19th and July 19th.
These supplies would taken in through the program will be donated to the Teachers Exchange, a non-profit associated with the Public Education Foundation.
The catch is that the person had to receive the parking infraction between the designated dates and in order to pay off their tickets, people have to bring in new, unwrapped school supplies of greater or equal value. Also, only non-public safety citations are eligible for this program. Accepted items include: pencils, pens, erasers, index cards, card stock, copy paper, storage bins, rulers, scissors, among a few other items.
