RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. – The 512-acre Tom’s Mill Fire has prompted forest officials to issue multiple temporary road closures in the Johnson County area of Pilot Rock due to fire suppression efforts.
The following roads will be temporarily closed in the Pilot Rock/Pilot Knob area during ongoing wildfire suppression activities:
Pilot Rock Road (1800) between the intersection of Forest Service Road (FSR) 1826 and east to the FSR 1802 intersection
FSR 1813
FSR 1826
FSR 93237A
Due to extremely dry conditions, forest visitors should be extra vigilant in managing campfires and use caution when traveling around the Pilot Rock area with the increased fire suppression traffic.
Approximately 20 firefighters are working to suppress the Tom’s Mill Fire, which began Saturday, Nov. 25. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
