Some kids don't like it when their parents say they have to eat their vegetables, but this little guy went waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay beyond the norm and called 911 to get some backup from the police about not having to eat it!
Officers in Halifax, Nova Scotia received an emergency call from a 12-year-old boy who said his parents made him a salad that he didn't want to eat. A few minutes later he called again asking why they hadn't responded yet and that his parents still expected him to eat the salad. Officers eventually paid a visit to the family -- and gave them a very stern lecture about the proper use of 911.
A police department spokesperson says, "While many can relate to the dislike of a salad at times, this raises a more important issue that warrants discussion at all ages. The improper use of 911 is an issue with all age groups and it ties up valuable resources, preventing emergency first responders from dealing with real emergencies." (Toronto Star)
