A Michigan hockey team attempted to break the Guinness World Record for "Largest Lightsaber Battle" over the weekend... The Kalamazoo Wings celebrated Star Wars Night by leading the crowd in a "lightsaber battle" that featured fans using either blue or red lightsabers in the style of the Jedi or the Sith. It's estimated that over 5,000 fans were in attendance, but no official numbers were released by the team. However, the stadium seats more than 5,000 and it was a sold out event.
Video and photos have been submitted to Guinness and officials say they should have some answers in the next couple of weeks to determine if the record was broken.
The current record is 3,860 people and that was set at Berkley Riverfront Park in Kansas City in May, 2019.
