Player Collapses During NHL Game

In all the years I've been an NHL fan, I've never seen anything like this. Was watching my team, the St. Louis Blues, as they played the Anaheim Ducks on Tuesday night and all of the sudden, things just went crazy! Jay Bouwmeester was finishing up a pretty long shift and headed for the bench. Seconds later, doctors are being called in and then the game is being cancelled/postponed! Now that we have a little more information, I can kinda share what happened and what's going on now.

Please keep Jay and his family in your prayers for a speedy recovery!

The St. Louis Blues shared some good news about Jay Bouwmeester-- the defenseman who suffered a scary "cardiac episode" during Tuesday night's game in Anaheim.

The team says the 36-year-old is still undergoing tests at the hospital in Irvine, California but is "doing very well" and his test results have been "very positive."

The 17-year veteran had just come off the ice after a long shift and suddenly collapsed on the bench. Players on both teams were stunned and the game was postponed. The Blues resume playing tonight in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights. (ESPN)
