AMC Theaters Opening Some Locations With 15 Cent Movies On August 20th

According to a recent post, AMC Theaters will be offering a one day special to welcome their customers back on their centennial anniversary with a 15 cent ticket!!! To celebrate 100 years, they're offering "movies in 2020 at 1920 prices" for their opening day. After opening day, tickets will still be available for cheaper than usual, costing $5.

About 100 locations will open back up on August 20th, with two-thirds of its 600+ US theater locations will be open by the time "Tenet", a new release, hits theaters on September 3. Of course, AMC will step up health and safety measures such as requiring facemasks in theaters, lowering seat capacity, and upgrading ventilation systems.

Meanwhile, movies will be re-releases of blockbuster hits like "Black Panther" and "Star Wars".

Sadly, according to the AMCTheaters.com website, most Arkansas theaters will not be a part of this special event... The Chenal 9 + IMAX is set to reopen on September 3rd in time for the new movie releases. The AMC Classic Central City 10 in Hot Springs is also set to open September 3rd. If you're making a trip to Northwest Arkansas, the AMC Fiesta Square 12 is set to reopen a little earlier, on August 27th.
