If you were a fan of the show Dexter back in the day, you'll be happy to know the show is making a return! Showtime ordered a new limited-series revival of the long-running serial-killer drama.
Michael C. Hall, who starred as the title character in the 7 year series, is back in the lead along with some cast and crew from the original series.
The original followed Dexter Morgan, who was a complicated and conflicted blood-spatter expert for the Miami Police Department but moonlighted as a serial killer.
Gary Levine, Co-President of Entertainment for Showtime, said that they were only willing to bring Dexter back if they could find a creative spin that was “worthy,” of the show and its legacy. Looks like they've found it. The premium cable network has decided on a new 10-part run for the series, and that is set to go into production early next year with a tentative premiere date of fall 2021.
