A group calling themselves Pets for the Elderly is dedicated to helping older people get through these difficult times by connecting them with pets from nearby shelters.
The group raises money and offers grants to shelters to make it as easy and affordable as possible to adopt pets.
And, it’s a great time for this mission because they’re able to bridge the “isolation gap” that the elderly are dealing with right now.
Since starting in 1992, Pets for the Elderly has helped nearly 100,000 senior citizens in 34 states.
And these days, they’re busier than ever, attempting to have at least one shelter open in all 50 states by January 1st, 2021.
