Neighbor Threatens To Go To Management Over Woman's Morning Sickness

We can understand being mad if a neighbor is playing their music too loud, or yelling and screaming at all hours of the night, but this woman’s neighbor is being totally unreasonable, and folks on the Internet are not having it.

A woman recently shared on Reddit that she is currently pregnant and suffering from some bad morning sickness, causing her to puke several times a day. She notes that the walls in her apartment building are pretty thin, and apparently one neighbor is not at all pleased with having to hear her getting sick.

“My neighbor knocked on my door and said she could hear my "loud puking" all the time,” the woman writes, “and she has a gag reflex when she hears people throwing up. She said she has almost thrown up after hearing me.”

The OP says she felt the neighbor was trying to suggest she was purposefully making herself sick so she explained her situation, and the neighbor requested she either turn on the fan or run the water when she’s puking to try and drown out the sound.

The OP said she’d try and do her best but the whole thing has been “stressful.” But even with her trying to accommodate the neighbor, she wasn’t happy and complained again, telling the OP she, “would be talking to management if it didn't stop.” The OP adds, “I was exhausted and over it, so I told her, "okay then" and closed the door. I feel like I've done what I can reasonably do but AITA?”

  • As you can imagine, most folks totally had her back and felt the neighbor was being unreasonable.
    • “Think the response to that is 'lady, if you think management might know a way to get rid of my morning sickness, by all means ask them for help!’,” one person noted.
    • “Creating a no-puking policy in the apartment?,” another asked. “Does she think they're going to say "ah yes, a thousand apologies, we'll get right on that" and soundproof her damn apartment?”
    • Finally, another shared, “She is going to be laughed at by management if she goes to them.”
