Here's some positive news for Britney Spears. As mentioned before, Brit reached out to high powered lawyer, Matthew Rosengart, a former federal prosecutor, to try and hire him to help get her father, Jamie, removed as her conservator. Well, TMZ reports he's agreed to take her case.
Rosengart is expected to appear in court remotely on Britney's behalf today and argue that she has a right to hire her own attorney, and that he wants to be appointed as that attorney.
Sources say he plans to argue she has a Constitutional right to her own attorney (even though this isn't a criminal case), and that Jamie doesn't have a right to disapprove of the choice, since the whole point of the hearings is that Britney wants dad gone.
- Meanwhile... As previously mentioned, Britney’s personal conservator Jodi Montgomery had a few choice words for Jamie who basically tried to blame her for how Britney is being treated under the conservatorship. Well, now Jodi has some more things to say. In new court docs, Jodi argues that Jamie’s recent request for an investigation into Britney’s claims is just a "thinly veiled attempt to clear his name.” Jodi says there should be an investigation, but it should be delayed until Britney’s allowed to hire her own lawyer. She believes Jamie’s call for an investigation is his attempt to “defend himself against his daughter's accusations", and demands the court not to "take his bait.”
