Catfish, Stitches, and Pool Time On Vacation

Every once in a while you just need a break, amirite? Well, the last 7 days was my chance to refresh and recharge with the family. Spent a few days just hanging around the house and playing with the kiddos, but eventually had to venture out into the world and have some fun. On Wednesday, I took advantage of the Arkansas Game And Fish website to see which ponds had been restocked and when so I could take the boys out for a fishing trip. We went over to Lake Valencia in Maumelle and had a blast. In fact, the oldest caught two catfish during our time there! Meanwhile the youngest just wanted to chase the geese 😁

Also, during the last week, the pool in our neighborhood finally decided to open, so we had some fun while maintaining our social distance from other swimmers. It was nice to finally get out and get in the water for a little while. The weather was so nice that we stayed out most of the days, which is how we come to the dreaded ER visit that occurred on Friday evening...

Baby DJ waited until he was 13 months to start walking, and immediately wanted to run like his big brother and sister! Unfortunately, he's still pretty new to the whole running thing and tripped in the driveway on Friday afternoon and went for a faceplant. Poor little fella caught a rock in the driveaway and got a pretty deep cut just above his eye. It didn't slow him down and he played really hard for the rest of the weekend! Check out the pictures below for the rest of the fun and chaos that was our vacation
