Packages of Kraft Singles are being voluntarily recalled due to a potential choking hazard.

Kraft Heinz announced it is recalling approximately 83,000 cases of the individually wrapped American cheese because one of the wrapping machines at the plant allowed for thin strips of the plastic film to remain on the cheese slices after the wrapper is removed. The company said in a statement, "If the film sticks to the slice and is not removed, it could be unpleasant and potentially cause a gagging or choking hazard." The recall was announced after receiving several complaints from customers who reported choking or gagging on the product.

The recall includes 16-ounce Kraft Singles American Pasteurized Prepared Cheese products with a use-by date between January 10, 2024 and January 27, 2024. Also, three-pound multipacks of Kraft Singles with a use-by date between January 9, 2024 and January 13, 2024.
