High School Students Taken To Hospital After Eating Spicy Chips

A shared bag of potato chips is responsible for sending 14 Japanese high school students to the hospital.

One student brought the bag of spicy potato chips to school to share with classmates, but these weren't your ordinary, run-of-the-mill spicy chips. These chips, labelled "R 18+ Curry Chips," include a warning urging people under the age of 18 not to eat them because they are "so spicy that they might cause you pain."

The kids ignored the warning and ate them anyway, which they immediately regretted as it made them so sick that the school had to have them transported to the hospital. One of the students felt so sick that he couldn't even walk. The label on the bag shows that a main ingredient is ghost pepper, which is one of the hottest peppers in the world. (CBS News)
