USDA Recalls Jimmy Dean Sausage

The US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced a recall on Monday regarding over 29,000 pounds of frozen, ready-to-eat Jimmy Dean sausage links.

According to the list, the product subject to recall is the 23.4 oz pouch of "Jimmy Dean HEAT 'n SERVE Original Sausage Links" made with Pork and Turkey. Packages with a "USE BY JAN 31 19" are currently in question. The frozen, ready-to-eat sausage links were packaged and produced on August 4, 2018.

Five people reported finding metal pieces inside the sausage links, according to the USDA. FSIS is concerned that some of the product may be in consumers' freezers. Consumers who have purchased these products are urged to throw them away or return them to the place of purchase. Do NOT consume them.
