HDSA Team Hope Walk and BBQ Contest

HDSA’s Arkansas Affiliate is hosting a Huntington’s disease fundraising event called the Arkansas Team Hope Walk on Saturday, October 5th at 3PM. The event takes place at War Memorial Golf Course in Little Rock. The Team Hope Walk Program is HDSA’s signature grassroots fundraising campaign designed to provide hope and support for those touched by this devastating disease. The event will also include a BBQ Contest.

The Arkansas Team Hope Walk is a fundraising event that will consists of the community walking together to support HDSA’s fight to improve the lives of people affected with HD as well as their families. The event will also include a Barbeque Contest with samples from a wide variety of food.

Huntington’s disease is a fatal genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain. It deteriorates a person’s physical and mental abilities during their prime working years and has no cure. Each child of a parent with HD has a 50/50 chance of inheriting the faulty gene that causes Huntington’s disease.
