Arkansas Closes Schools In Saline, Grant, Jefferson, and Pulaski Counties

Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced on Thursday, March 12, that schools in Saline, Jefferson, Grant and Pulaski counties would be closing due to presumptive cases of the coronavirus being reported. According to the statement, six presumed cases had been brought to attention.

The Little Rock School District confirmed the information in a letter sent to parents, students and staff saying that school activities have been canceled but they will still participate in the state basketball tournament. Students will need to log in to their AMI program to complete assignments for the appropriated time.

The Bauxite Public School District announced to its students and staff that the state had ordered all schools in Saline County to close until March 30th.
