Super Bowl weekend will take on a whole new meaning this year -- thanks to The Weeknd, who's just been tabbed to headline the halftime show at Super Bowl 55.
The "Blinding Lights" singer will take the stage of Tampa's Raymond James Stadium when the big game goes down on February 7th. He says, “We all grow up watching the world’s biggest acts playing the Super Bowl and one can only dream of being in that position. I’m humbled, honored and ecstatic to be the center of that infamous stage this year.”
This marks the second year of a halftime show partnership between the NFL and Jay-Z's Roc Nation. Last year's teaming of Jennifer Lopez and Shakira generated a lot of positive reviews -- and a lot of controversy over the content.
