What Country Artist Wants To Ask Morgan Wallen If He's Changed?

Morgan Wallen

It's been way over a year since Morgan Wallen was indefinitely suspended from the country music industry. In that time, he's only become more popular.

Some might say that Wallen has paid his dues and is entitled to come back and succeed. But others will argue that he should have never been allowed back in the first place. No matter which side of the argument you fall on, one thing is clear: Morgan Wallen is not going away anytime soon.

The fact is, whether you like it or not, Morgan Wallen is here to stay. And if we're going to have any kind of conversation about him, we need to be honest about where he stands right now. So let's start by asking the question on everyone's mind: Has Morgan Wallen changed since he was suspended from the music industry? That is the question Country artist Breland would like to ask Morgan.

Breland wrote an in-depth article on CMT.com about how canceling Morgan has only made him more popular. He writes,

"What he’s learned during his time off remains to be seen, but what I hope we can all learn is that our current system for solving these types of issues is ineffective. These problems have never been solved through avoidance, in fact, that has only perpetuated them. While canceling Morgan Wallen has arguably made him a bigger star, it’s hard to know whether it has made him a different person."
- Breland

Morgan has said that he is open to sitting down with Breland and having that conversation.

In terms of his music, I haven't noticed any major changes since Wallen was suspended from the industry. His sound is still very much influenced by country music, and his lyrics are still very personal and introspective. However, I do think that Wallen has become more political in his songwriting. Many of his latest songs seem to be addressing social issues like racism and inequality.

So has Morgan Wallen changed since he was suspended from the music industry? I'm not sure there's a definitive answer to that question. But what I can say is that Wallen seems to be evolving as an artist and as a person. And whether you like him or not, you have to admit that he's fascinating to watch. Morgan is selling out every show, including his stop at The Walmart Amp on Friday night August 26th. His latest single "You Proof" is on track to be his next number one.
