It looks like the upcoming season for The Big Bang Theory will be the last... After 12 years and nearly 280 episodes, CBS will be ending its run of the popular comedy.
According to Entertainment Weekly, Jim Parsons forced the end of the show stating that he turned down a reported $50M contract (roughly $1M per episode) that CBS offered the star for another two years of the show.
CBS also reached out to fans on the show's Instagram page saying, “We are forever grateful to our fans for their support of The Big Bang Theory during the past twelve seasons. We, along with the cast, writers and crew, are extremely appreciative of the show’s success and aim to deliver a final season, and series finale, that will bring The Big Bang Theory to an epic creative close.”
Meanwhile, Kaley Cuoco said Wednesday on Instagram, (quote) “No matter when it was going to end, my heart would have always been broken in two. Drowning in tears.”
