Disney Plus has begun developing a sequel to the 1993 comedy Hocus Pocus with Jen D'Angelo (Workaholics) on board to write the script!
Currently there are few details about Hocus Pocus 2. It seems that the new Hocus Pocus sequel will go directly to the new Disney streaming service platform rather than a traditional release in theaters. There is also no word on whether the original cast will return. While the Sanderson Sisters, played by Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy, have not said they'll return to their roles, Disney is "hopeful they may become involved."
