Garth Brooks is taking himself out of the running for the CMA's Entertainer of the Year.
Last year, his seventh win stirred a lot of controversy, with many feeling that it was time for someone else to pick up the CMA's biggest award.
Garth lobbied the CMA to create an Entertainer Emeritus Award, but was turned down. Instead, he decided to sit out that category from here on out.
