CALS Opens Six Bridges Book Festival Registration

CALS will host the annual Six Bridges Book Festival, featuring over 70 authors. Six Bridges Book Festival takes place from October 21-31, with registration currently open for all events. The Teen Creative Writing Contest submissions are accepted now through October 22. Tasty Reads and Trick or Toga submissions are both accepted October 1-24.

Registration is now open for all sessions and contests. This year’s events will be hosted virtually via Zoom and include a wide variety of topics, from history and religion to food and fiction. The Festival also has three contests with a chance to win cash prizes.

• Teen Creative Writing Contest: This year’s theme is Adventure! Entries should be no more than one page front and back. Participants can enter more than one story. First place will be awarded $100, second place $50, and third $25.

• Tasty Reads Edible Book Contest: Participants are encouraged to create interpretations of their favorite book. Categories include junior, adult, and “funniest” which can come from either category. Prizes are $300 for the adult category and $100 for junior and funniest.

• Trick or Toga: A new addition this year that combines all the things we love– pets, costumes and tricks. We’re looking for a one minute or less video of your pet doing a trick, or your pet dressed up in a fun (hopefully book inspired) costume. Prizes will be awarded for best trick and best costume, $250 each.

All Six Bridges Book Festival events are free to the public but require registration at sixbridgesbookfestival.org. Additional information on all the contests can also be found there.
