NECC Loves The Ville by helping 31 Local Schools

Northeast Christian Church is to Boldly Change Lives Now. Love The ‘Ville began three years ago when 1800 people spent a Sunday morning ‘blitzing’ the Clifton area with cleanup, beautification projects, free bikes for kids and handy work. The movement has exploded since that time into many different projects, partnerships, and community support. We want to show our neighbors that they are loved, and we need YOU to accomplish that.

Our recent projects and partners include:

We believe the best way to impact our city is through proactive, service-driven activities that build community and create a better, safer, friendlier environment in which to live.

LoveTheVille School Blitz started with our partner schools when we realized that their Facilities teams have the personnel and resources to get the inside of their buildings ready for the new school year, but struggled to do anything to get the outside of the building and their overall campus ready. Last year, we expanded our impact by adding all the elementary schools within a five-mile radius of our Brownsboro campus and we worked on 11 school campuses. One thing we realized is that if we had families at those schools with students who either attended that school or who had previously attended there, our folks would enthusiastically volunteer AND they would bring others from the school with them. So, this year, we are going BIG.

On Sunday, August 6 we will be taking church to school as we work on 31 school campuses in Jefferson and Oldham county (with a few more pending). Basically, we took all of the families in our database with elementary age children and if there were two Northeast families at a school, we added that school to our list. This is a family friendly event, all ages are welcome to help. Childcare is not provided. Only children over the age of 14 need to register.

Registration for this event is now closed, but don't let that stop you form joining us. Bring your gardening/landscaping tools to a school of your choice and #LovetheVille with us! See list of schools below.
