Taco Bell has announced plans to award $10 million in scholarships by 2022 to employees and customers. The restaurant has already given $2.8-million to students and will award $1 to $2 million every year to hit that $10 million goal. This year, they awarded 100 students between $5,000 and $25,000 each.
But the thing about these scholarships is that they’re not given based on test scores or hardships students have overcome, these are for applicants who express what they’re passionate about and share how they’ll use the money to reach their career goals. Anyone between the ages of 16 and 24 with a GED or high school diploma can apply by submitting a two-minute video explaining their passion and how they plan to achieve it.
“The Live Mas scholarship is not based on your grades or how well you play sports. No essays, no test scores, no right or wrong answers,” Taco Bell explains on its scholarship site. “We’re looking for the next generation of innovators, creators and dreamers.”
