September marks 6 months since this little guy arrived (a little early) as a huge blessing to me and my family. Hard to wrap my head around the fact that he's been here that long. Seems like he just got here a couple of days ago, but also feels like he's been here for so much longer!
So, yesterday, his Mama and I took him to the doctor for his 6 month checkup and shots. I'm happy to report that he got a clean bill of health, that he is on track for height and weight for his age range, and that this time he didn't black out from holding his breath after getting his vaccinations! (Also, thanks to everyone who took the time to send in advice and suggestions about what to do with "baby breath holding episodes" and for all the thoughts and prayers for the whole family after that ordeal.)
The doctor said it's time to stop mixing foods with cereal and just get to the good stuff, so we've been enjoying tons of new flavors and foods... And there's a whole new feeding routine that's supposed to help him finally sleep through the night, (goodbye overnight feedings!) with two less bottles during the day. Last night, it seemed to be helping quite a bit. While he didn't sleep all the way through the night, he's on his way... Me and Mama? Probably going to take more getting used to for us than it will for him.
Thanks in advance for keeping all of us in your prayers over the next few weeks. Baby DJ is getting fewer feedings but more yummy goodness to go around, and he's getting to enjoy his own personal bed to flop around in at night. We'll see how everyone does in a few days of this. Oh, and one other new thing this week!
This little guy got to watch his first Razorback game on TV this past Saturday, and while he wasn't sure about calling the Hogs the first time around, he got the hang of it and was giggling along with everyone in no time. Always good when we get a win in Fayetteville! Looking forward to the day when I can take him up to The Hill for the HogTown Street Festival and then a game. Can't imagine what he will think of that!
